Holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership with an emphasis on Supervision and a Ph.D. in Business Management. She holds a Certifi ed Hospitality Educator, (CHE) Certification from the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute, (AHLEI). She was selected by the AHLEI to become a global Master Certified Trainer in 2015. In 2007, Dr. Gittens was recognized as “Professor of the Year” by Ashford University for her outstanding academic excellence and her instructional brilliance.

Holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Syracuse University and a Master’s in Education Administration from the University of the Virgin Islands. In 1996, she obtained a propaudeuse (pre-law) diploma from the University of the Netherlands Antilles in Curacao. She graduated from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras, with a doctorate in English, specializing in Caribbean linguistics. In 2010, Dr. Arrindell became the fi rst Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, and Youth Affairs in the United People (UP)/Democratic Party (DP) coalition government. She is the author of Language, Culture, and Identity in St. Martin (HNP).

Holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, majoring in Economics, Accounting and Finance. He started his career as a high-school teacher in Malawi Africa in the mid-nineties. After gaining experience in the management fi eld, he earned a Master’s Degree in International Service Management from the London Metropolitan University. He has both management and teaching experience on three continents. He is a Certifi ed Hospitality Educator with AHLEI and is the current Division Head of the BTEC Hospitality & Business Division at the University of St. Martin.

A respected lecturer and trainer at the University of St. Martin (USM), specializing in English courses on a range of levels, and is the Project Manager of the English training venture between USM and the teachers of Sint Eustatius. She holds an MA in Communications, Marketing and Business, a BA in English Journalism, an AA in Music, and has other specialized certifi cates. She has held Management Corporate positions over the last 15 years in the United States and globally in Media, Real Estate, Banking, and Technology.

He was the Project Coordinator for Education and Theatre, Fame – ISH, and Cam Talk: Dialogical Teaching/Learning at Cambridge University. He held pristine apprenticeships positions for the National Board for Vocational Training of the Netherlands, Hospitality, Tourism, and Food. He has completed Masterclasses on Management at the University of Utrecht, as well as Post graduate training on Guided Learning, Mid-Management.

She is the Founder and President of Progressive Educational Experiences in Caribbean Cultures (PEECC) Foundation established on St. Maarten in 1999 with an associate organization in the United States Progressive Educational Experiences in Cooperative Cultures. She was recently appointed as the Netherlands Assistant Country Coordinator for The Global Learning and Observations to Benefi t the Environment (GLOBE), a program that educates the community on today’s global envirionment.

Chantelle is known for being an engaging and passionate speaker with several years’ experience in training & development, facilitation and guest speaking. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, a Master Black Belt Certification in Business Process Improvement, and is a Change Management Practitioner. As her passion grew to help and empower people, she also became a Master Coach in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) - a study of human excellence using the mind body connection to drive individuals to their desired results. As a lead corporate trainer for a multinational leading investment company, she has facilitated numerous training sessions, coached others trainers and established a training curriculum. She is experienced in communicating with a diverse audience - from senior leaders to youths - while delivering a strong and effective message. Chantelle currently resides in St Maarten and is looking to contribute to the educational advancement on the island.

Is President/Interim Dean of Academics of the University of St. Martin (USM), Sint Maarten, the Dutch West Indies. A Social & Cultural Anthropologist by training, Dr. Guadeloupe has worked at all the major universities in the Netherlands before taken up his post on St. Maarten. He is still affiliated to the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, as an Assistant Professor in Anthropology.

Is a General Liberal Arts student at the University of St. Martin. Ralph is a voracious reader and loves to volunteer by providing counseling to other young people. He has been active in the community by being parts of organizations such as the Africa Caribbean Heritage Alliance, the St. Maarten Bookfair, and The Independence for St. Martin Foundation.” He has recently been elected as Vice President of USM Ambassadors and is the editor and coordinator of a newspaper called St. Martin Speaks. Ralph is also a radio personality for USM’s student radio show also called St. Martin Speaks.

Has a Bachelor’s Degree in Teacher Education with Dutch as a second language. She has been teaching since 1981 and has 21 years of experience in Primary Education and 13 years of experience at Secondary level. She also worked with the aspiring Coast Guard students and has been teaching at USM for the last couple of years.She taught in Suriname (her native country), St. Eustatius, the Netherlands and St. Maarten. She has other specialized certificates.

Presently holds a Masters of Arts Degree in Teaching, specializing in Adult Education which he studied at the Mico University College in Jamaica. Jason also has a Bachelors in Education Degree, majoring in English and Literature with a minor in Linguistics which he obtained from The University of the West Indies in Jamaica. In addition, he possesses a Diploma in Education from the Mico Teacher’s College in Jamaica, specializing in English Language, English Literature and Linguistics. Jason is also a trained Instructional Designer.

Also holds a designation as Certified Shopping Center Manager CSM from the International Council of Shopping Centers New York-USA, a Diploma in Operation Management from Wharton School of Business, Penn State University Pennsylvania-USA and a Diploma in Maritime Economics from the Cambridge Institute of Transportation, Cambridge-UK.

Catherine Burns
Is Executive Director of IRM Training Solutions Canada and has over 25 years’ experience educating and developing teams in Canada and St. Maarten. A respected management professional she delivers engaging and enriching programs specializing in customer service, teambuilding and leadership development. She holds a Human Resources diploma, an Adult Learner certification and is enrolled in Royal Rhodes University Master’s Program. Burns was recently appointed Chair of the Crossroads Hospice Society, Strategic Planning Committee Board, located in British Columbia and is an Education and Events consultant with the Love of Kids Foundation, St. Maarten.

Makhicia Brooks holds a Bachelor’s Degree, summa cum laude, in Political Science with a minor in International Relations from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University and a Masters Degree in International Development with a focus in national and global policy from American University where she was a Hall of Nations Award recipient and served as a Graduate Teaching and Research Assistant.

Mitsha Shobhan Giterson, MA
For the past 11 years I’ve have been living in The Netherlands where I completed both my Bachelors and Master’s degree in the field: International Communication Management. Throughout this period, I also had the opportunity to work with international companies such as Nike (European Head Quarters) and Laureate International Universities (top leading in the online education sector). Working with Nike I was able to develop and manage Store Communication boards which are still used today across retail and factory stores throughout Western and Central Eastern Europe as one of the main communication tools. Working with Laureate International Universities has helped me to gain greater exposure and expanded my network within the educational sector, as I am actively involved in projects throughout all parts of the organization. The experiences that I was able to gain have molded me into the success driven, hardworking and analytical person that I am today.

Zeynep Sabahoglur (Ms. Zen)
Born and raised in the Netherlands with an Arab / Turkish descent, and is currently living on the island of St. Maarten for the past 10 years with her Jamaican/Arab daughter. Zeynep Sabahoglu (Zen) considers herself to be diversely multicultural which she makes use of, her background, to make her successful and interesting ; she is fluent in the Dutch, English, German, and Turkish languages. Attended the University of Leiden in Holland and studied Pedagogy Studies at the Faculty of Social Studies (in Dutch called Orthopedagogiek), with a specialization in problematic behavioral situations. She has years and years of experience in working with different schools in SXM drop outs /students and young adults and turning them into successful Productive adults. She considers herself as a educational motivator and job coach. She provides guidance and life lessons and has given many workshops throughout all of the schools on St. Maarten that concentrated on: Job skills, Job Interview Techniques, and making Career choices.

Dr. Clark has been lecturing worldwide for more than three decades. He has presented over 4,000 domestic and international seminars. He is the author of "SMART Management." He serves as a Senior Advisor for GATE: Global Academy of Tourism and Hospitality Education located in Katmandu, Nepal and is a Founding Associate of HospitalityEducator.com. He has had published over 300 managerial articles on such topics as human resources, organizational development, B2B design, training & education, soft skills development, train-the-trainer, sales & marketing, hospitality operations, and exceptional customer service.

Anisa Dijkhoffz, M.S.
Anisa Dijkhoffz holds a Bachelor’s Degree, magna cum laude, in Finance and a Master of Science, cum laude, in Business Administration specialization Financial Management from Vrije Universiteit in the Netherlands. She currently works as policy advisor to the Minister of Finance and assists with the country’s budget and initiatives towards obtaining financial stability. She has recently co-founded a non-profit organization with Ardwell Irion called Invenio Academy that strives to provide personal development and business support courses to in turn help stimulate entrepreneurship and professionalism to all age groups.
